The Legendary

What Legacy Will You Leave Behind?

'It’s Not What You Own In This World, it’s what legacy you leave behind that Matters.-Daniel Chidiac's Mother
'You Can You Do’

Dr.Martin Luther King Jr has done what few people can only dream of doing, he has left a global legacy behind that mattered.

His "I have a dream” speech was not only beautifully written and orated it left a legendary message...DREAM. The message behind the words and the lasting impact those words still have is phenomenal.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was and still remains one of the most renowned light workers and visionaries of modern day history. Till this day millions of people around the world remain spellbound every time they hear his 'I Have A Dream' Speech. Through the course of the civil rights movement he elevates the corse of humanities dignity in such a positive way and I am sure he will be remembered throughout history because of the legacy he left behind.

Every one of us is going to leave a legacy of some kind, It just depends on what kind.

So what kind of legacy do you want to leave?

I encourage you to think about it because knowing how you want to be remembered helps you decide how you want to live today!

Here are some examples of the kinds of Legacies that we can choose to leave behind for others.

A Legacy of Excellence – To leave a legacy of excellence means you strive to be your best every day. As you strive for excellence you inspire excellence in others. You serve as a role model for your children, your friends and your colleagues. One person in pursuit of excellence raises the standards and behaviours of everyone around them. Your life is your greatest legacy and as long as your here living give all you can.

A Legacy of Encouragement – You have a choice; you can lift others up or bring them down. Twenty, Thirty, Forty years from now when people think of you what do you want them to remember?
Someone who leaves a legacy of encouragement leaves a lasting impact on the lives of those they touch. Be that person, be the person that someone will call five, ten or twenty years from now and say “Thank you, I couldn’t have done it without you.

Think about the way you can encourage others bearing in mind it isn't just about what you say and how you say it, encouragement is about how you make others feel. People may forget what you said but they will always remember how you made them feel!
Who will you encourage today?

A Legacy of Purpose – People who leave a legacy of purpose are those most energised when they are using their strengths and talents for a purpose beyond themselves. To leave a legacy of purpose means you make your life about something bigger than you. While you’re not going to live forever you can live on through positive impact you make in the world and the legacy you leave.

A Legacy of passion: Passion from the heart is an undying love for all that we are and allows for an undying love and purpose for all that what we do.

Passion has the ability to transform you and invigorate others.

The inner excitement you feel when you're on the right path, doing what feels good to you and what you know you were meant to do, is a marvellous gift to pass on.

A Legacy of service: This is a call to serve and be of service to others. In all our ambitions, dreams and visions, we are called to serve with a true sense of the love we've been given.

A legacy of goodwill and compassion: An example of a person who has left a legacy of goodwill and compassion is Mother Theresa. Such  individuals are remembered for always being caring and compassionate to mankind  as a whole and ensuring good will was shown not only to their family, friends, coworkers and people they know but everyone young and old regardless of individual differences such as culture, ethnicity, sexual orientation or religion.

A Legacy of Love: To Share a legacy of love, there is no greater gift that you can give. To love others and do for others from a place of unconditional love is a Legacy that encompasses all of the above.

'Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres'-1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Everyone wants to feel that their life has a purpose, although most of us either don't know what our purpose is and/or don't have the belief that they can achieve and  accomplish their purpose.

Far too many of us don't have faith in our abilities. We think if we step out on a limb and take the leap we will fail.

Fear and self doubt is a stumbling block that keeps far too many people captive and prevents them from fulfilling their purpose. It is because of this I personally Aim to leave “A Legacy of self belief & self actualisation.

People who seek the frontiers of creativity and strive to reach higher levels of consciousness and wisdom, were described by Maslow as 'self-actualizing' individuals.

Self actualising individuals possess a unifying directional tendency toward self mastery and strive to express their capabilities fully, and that this is the basis for happiness.

I want my legacy to be left in everything I do; in the pages of books, blogs, vlogs, apps and, most importantly engraved in the hearts and minds of those who encounter me. The information I leave behind comes from a heartfelt place as I aim to assist others in self actualising their visions hopes and dreams.
